O Zlatiboru

Sirogojno and Stopića cave

Sirogojno is a village located on the eastern edge of the Zlatibor plateau.

It houses the open-air museum “Staro selo”, which is one of the most important tourist facilities in this area, which shows the life of a rural family from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. All buildings and furniture are authentic and transferred to the museum space, which covers an area of 4.5 ha.

Not far from Zlatibor, on the road to Sirogojno, there is the Stopića cave, discovered in 1901.

Due to the unique beauty of its shapes, it is an extremely interesting tourist destination and is one of the most beautiful caves in Serbia. It consists of five units: Light Hall, Dark Hall, Great Hall with bathtubs, Canal with bathtubs and River Canal.

Mokra Gora and Drvengrad

Mokra Gora is a mountain village that stretches between the mountains of Tara and Zlatibor, known for its picturesque nature and Sharganska osmica, a narrow gauge railway that passes through this area.

Don’t miss the opportunity to ride a steam locomotive that breaks through the rocky straits and cuts, a route on which the railway makes an unusual route in the shape of number eight, after which it got its famous name.

On the way to Tara, on the nearby hill Mećavnik, there is Drvengrad, an ethno village built by director Emir Kusturica.

Drvengrad is built in ethno style and exudes a unique atmosphere, is a famous tourist attraction and has its own church, gallery, cinema, bookstore, pastry shop, national restaurant and shop of folk handicrafts of the area.

Andrićgrad

Andrićgrad is a tourist, cultural, administrative and educational complex built in Višegrad, in the Republic of Srpska.

It was created on the basis of the idea of director Emir Kusturica, inspired by the works of Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić, with the goal of connecting unsettled historical periods, promoting tourism, culture, peace and equality, spreading literacy and uniting peoples, regions and the world.

Walking through its streets you will embark on a kind of journey through time.

The city is filled with various facilities, including the city theater, modern cinema, city administration, Andrić high school building, river marina and port, squares, church, old inn, shops and memorial house of Ivo Andrić

Zlakusa and Potpećka cave

The village of Zlakusa is located in the municipality of Uzice, in the Zlatibor district, and is considered the capital of pottery and a synonym for rural tourism in Serbia.

Near the village, there is an ethno park Terzića avlija, which is a kind of open-air and indoor museum. Terzić’s courtyard dates from the beginning of the 20th century, as a typical rural household, with old houses and a garden consisting of a farm, shed, dairy and well.

Another treasure of this area is the Potpeć Cave, which is located in the village of Potpeć, 14 km from Užice, at the northern foot of the Drežnica hillfort.

The entrance to this cave is one of the monumental parts of nature, it is horseshoe-shaped and is one of the largest cave entrances in the Balkans. It is assumed that the Potpeć cave was a human habitat during the Neolithic. In front of the cave there is a fish restaurant Pećina, where you can organize lunch and eat the most delicious trout in this area.
